Back on topic then! I'll be there before it gets dark hopefully. Got to wait for the wifelet to get home before I can set out (something about wanting to see me before I go to "play soldiers", I dunno, because I wasn't really listening as I sewed on my Desert Rat patches!).

I doubt it, but do be aware that this is an area where dogging regularly takes place. So........

Actually, is that why you want to sleep in the car?

This site with its locked gate won't have much to see (depending on what you lot get up to once darkness falls  ) but pop up the road to the old F&O site..... well, lets just say it is one of Derbyshire's dogging meccas. Its even listed in the dogger's directories.

So I'm told.

Even though I've been there a couple of times before, I've still had to find the postcode for Lant Lane from the Royal Mail website, for the satnav!

Hi all

Just to clarify this isn't the same site we used for Battle of the Bulge, but it's very nearby. Here are the directions:

First & Only Airsoft site is at Lantlodge Wood, Lant Lane, just off the A632 Chesterfield Road, Matlock, Derbyshire. If you knew where the old site was then its simply 2 minutes away (and closer to the pub).

From Matlock: Follow the A632 our of Matlock towards Chesterfield. After about 5 minutes you'll reach the top of Slack Hill (splits into a dual carriage way) you need to turn right on to Lant Lane just before this. Once on Lant Lane turn immediately right into a track, this is the site, follow it until you reach the parking area. Insert googlemaps directions link.

From M1 North: Take Junction 29. Head towards Chesterfield. Now follow signs to Matlock, this will take you onto the the A632 Chesterfield Road. You will come to Slack Hill (dual carriageway). Go down and up the other side. Turn left onto Lant Lane. Turn 1st right in to a track, this is the site, follow it until you reach the car park. Insert googlemaps directions link.

From M1 South: Take Junction 28. Follow A38 towards Derby/Ripley. Take the Junction for Alferton (should be sign posts to Matlock. Follow the A615 (sign posted Matlock) roughly 5 minutes after passing through Wessington take a right onto Lick Penny Lane (Sign posted for Lick Penny Carvan Site). Follow this to the end. Go across the junction and follow this road until you come to the very end. Turn left onto the A632 Chesterfield Road. Then turn 1st left on to Lant Lane. Turn 1st right into a track, this is the site, follow it until you reach the car park. Insert googlemaps directions link

I already posted it on page three of this thread but repeated for clarity, Yith's annotated F&O Matlock map:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?client=firef...p%3Bz%3D17&om=0&ie=UTF8&hl=en&t=h&msa=0&msid=103263721795350158369.0004494780220def8dd9a&ll=53.158416,-1.511049&spn=0.008981,0.020084&z=16&iwloc=00044947868be0efce33e

Don't use this to find doggers though, its an airsoft site. :giggle:
